Spontaneous mutations in the EEF1A2 gene cause epilepsy and severe neurological disabilities in children. The crystal structure of eEF1A2 protein purified from rabbit skeletal muscle reveals a post-translationally modified dimer that provides information about the sites of interaction with numerous binding partners, including itself, and maps these mutations onto the dimer and tetramer interfaces. The spatial locations of the side chain carboxylates of Glu301 and Glu374, to which phosphatidylethanolamine is uniquely attached via an amide bond, define the anchoring points of eEF1A2 to cellular membranes and interorganellar membrane contact sites. Additional bioinformatic and molecular modeling results provide novel structural insight into the demonstrated binding of eEF1A2 to SH3 domains, the common MAPK docking groove, filamentous actin, and phosphatidylinositol-4 kinase IIIβ. In this new light, the role of eEF1A2 as an ancient, multifaceted, and articulated G protein at the crossroads of autophagy, oncogenesis and viral replication appears very distant from the “canonical” one of delivering aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome that has dominated the scene and much of the thinking for many decades. 相似文献

Hafnia (HfO2, hafnium dioxide) is a wide band gap and high-κ material, and the metastable cubic hafnia has a much higher permittivity compared with the normal monoclinic hafnia. Here, we employ a one-step process, the pulsed plasma in liquid (PPL) method to synthesize two types of hafnia nanoparticles (NPs): one which is mainly in cubic phase (cubic: 81.7 at%, monoclinic: 18.3 at%) and the other which is in monoclinic phase. High-resolution transmission electron microscopy images showed that the particles were small (particle size ~3 nm). X-ray absorption fine structure analysis showed no chemical shifts, indicating that the synthetic hafnia NPs contained no oxygen vacancy. The synthetic hafnia NPs mainly in cubic phase showed a much higher relative permittivity than that of the commercial hafnia (monoclinic), and have a larger band gap than the synthetic monoclinic hafnia NPs. 相似文献

Bismuth doped La2-xBixNiO4+δ (x = 0, 0.02 and 0.04) oxides are investigated as SOFC cathodes. The effects of Bi doping on the phase structure, thermal expansion, electrical conduction behavior as well as electrochemical performance are studied. All the samples exist as a tetragonal Ruddlesden-Popper structure. Bi-doped LBNO-0.02 and LBNO-0.04 have good chemical and thermal compatibility with LSGM electrolyte. The average TEC over 20–900°С was 13.4 × 10?6 and 14.2 × 10?6 K?1 for LBNO-0.02 and LBNO-0.04, respectively. The electrical conductivity was decreasing with the rise of Bi doping content. EIS measurement indicates Bi doping can decrease the ASR values. At 750 °C, the obtained ASR for LBNO-0.04 is 0.18 Ωcm2, which is 56% lower than that of the sample without Bi doping, suggesting Bi doping is beneficial to the electrochemical catalytic activity of LBNO cathodes. 相似文献

Ti3C2Tx MXene has attracted remarkable attention due to its promising applications in energy storage and sensors. However, traditional MXene preparation methods used HF as etchant, which was highly toxic and harmful to human and environment. Moreover, the aqueous etchants will also result in the combination of OH, O and F groups on the surfaces, making it difficult to control the varieties and contents of the surface terminations. In this paper, a green and mild electrochemical exfoliation method was proposed to synthesize Ti3C2Fx and synchronously control its fluorination degree on the surface. A non-aqueous ionic liquid, [BMIM][PF6]-based solution was used as electrolyte. The as-prepared Ti3C2Fx was fluorinated with the CF and TiF3 groups, which were electrochemically active and contributed to the excellent cycling stability of the MXene anode-based Li-ion batteries. Cancer remains an intractable medical problem. Rapid diagnosis and identification of cancer are critical to differentiate it from nonmalignant diseases. High-throughput biofluid metabolic analysis has potential for cancer diagnosis. Nevertheless, the present metabolite analysis method does not meet the demand for high-throughput screening of diseases. Herein, a high-throughput, cost-effective, and noninvasive urine metabolic profiling method based on TiO2/MXene-assisted laser desorption/ionization mass spectrometry (LDI-MS) is presented for the efficient screening of bladder cancer (BC) and nonmalignant urinary disease. Combined with machine learning, TiO2/MXene-assisted LDI-MS enables high diagnostic accuracy (96.8%) for the classification of patient groups (including 47 BC and 46 ureteral calculus (UC) patients) from healthy controls (113 cases). In addition, BC patients can also be identified from noncancerous UC individuals with an accuracy of 88.3% in the independent test cohort. Furthermore, metabolite variations between BC and UC individuals are investigated based on relative quantification, and related pathways are also discussed. These results suggest that this method, based on urine metabolic patterns, provides a potential tool for rapidly distinguishing urinary diseases and it may pave the way for precision medicine. 相似文献

A series of BaGd2O4:Bi3+,Eu3+ phosphors with dual-emitting centers were prepared by high-temperature solid-state method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), fluorescence spectroscopy, lifetime decay curve and variable temperature emission spectroscopy were used to systematically study the structure, luminescence performance and temperature characteristics. Under ultraviolet (UV) excitation, the BaGd2O4:Bi3+,Eu3+ phosphor showed a broad-band emission in the blue region corresponding to transitions of Bi3+ ions and the sharp red light emission corresponding to Eu3+ ions. The Bi3+ and Eu3+ ion emission peaks were well-separated, which meets a prerequisite for efficient temperature signal resolution measurement. The fluorescence intensity ratio (FIR) technique was used to measure the different temperature response characteristics between Bi3+ blue emission and Eu3+ red emission. When the temperature varies from 293 K to 473 K, the relative temperature sensitivity (Sr) of BaGd2O4:Bi3+,Eu3+ phosphors is obtained, was determined as 1.0182%K−1. In addition to calculating the relative sensitivity by FIR technology, we can also obtain the value of Sr through experiments and formulas related to the decay life, and found to be 1.0651%K−1. Therefore, BaGd2O4: Bi3+,Eu3+ phosphor is an excellent non-contact optical temperature measurement material. 相似文献

Liquid marble (LM) is a droplet that is wrapped by hydrophobic solid particles, which behave as a non-wetting soft solid. Based on these properties, LM can be applied in fluidics and soft device applications. A wide variety of functional particles have been synthesized to form functional LMs. However, the formation of multifunctional LMs by integrating several types of functional particles is challenging. Here, a general strategy for the flexible patterning of functional particles on droplet surfaces in a patchwork-like design is reported. It is shown that LMs can switch their macroscopic behavior between a stable and active state on super-repellent surfaces in situ by jamming/unjamming the surface particles. Active LMs hydrostatically coalesce to form a self-sorted particle pattern on the droplet surface. With the support of LM handling robotics, on-demand cyclic activation–manipulation–coalescence–stabilization protocols by LMs with different sizes and particle types result in the reliable design of multi-faced LMs. Based on this concept, a single bi-functional LM is designed from two mono-functional LMs as an advanced droplet carrier. 相似文献
